Bellingham Pub Runs August and September 2019

Catch the pub runs at the end of summer 2019, bringing together runners, supporters, and everyone who loves the Bellingham beer scene. Put on your running gear and race to the pub in the mild autumn weather, then come to mingle, meet fellow racers, and/or build relay teams for the Bellingham Bay Marathon. All three pub runs start at 6:00pm at BBay Running and everyone is welcome! More details below:

Kombucha Town Kick-Off – Thursday, August 22nd at 6:00pm

Bellingham is in a kombucha craze right now, and we’re not complaining one bit — the healthy drink is rich in probiotics and antioxidants that will keep anyone healthy for the race.

The all-paces run begins at 6:00pm in front of BBay Running. Choose between a 3.1- or 4.7-mile route around the city, then gather at Bellingham’s favorite kombucha club to celebrate. To gather enthusiasm, we will hand out free T-shirts from previous Bellingham Bay Marathon years, not to mention tons of raffle prizes after the run.

Kombucha Town’s locally brewed kombucha is made with fair-trade and organic ingredients picked for sustainability and taste. Try their original ginger flavor and Cascadian hops blend (don’t worry, there’s beer, too).

For the full gastropub experience, we recommend the poke bowls and macaroni with bleu cheese.

Bellingham Cider Company Bash – Thursday, August 29th at 6:00pm

The second in the pub run series begins at BBay Running at 6:00, and doesn’t stop until it reaches Bellingham Cider Company. Once again, there are two routes available: 3.7 or 5 miles along Whatcom Creek Trail.

Bellingham Cider Company features one-of-a-kind ciders brewed from rare and delectable fruits, especially the prickly pear and blackberry ginger ciders, which we highly recommend trying after the pub run. Each participant has a chance to win a gift certificate to Bellingham Cider Company or Bellingham Bay Marathon swag.

If your friends aren’t sold on beer yet, treat them to the “Gateway” Hazy Hopped Cider. For dinner, the name of the game is light, healthy fare paired with your favorite drink. Be sure to try one or two fruit-inspired cocktails as well.

Twin Sisters Brewing Social – Thursday, September 5th at 6:00pm

With a large, merry indoor space and sprawling garden, Twin Sisters is the perfect location for our final pub run before the big race. The hard-working team will serve nitro stouts, grapefruit ales, IPAs, and more deep into the night.

Get a big group of friends together and share a platter of sliders or tacos, with vegan and gluten-free options galore. This may be your last chance to meet running mates before the marathon, so save the date!

The final run begins at, you guessed it, 6:00pm at BBay Running! We’ll go all-out with the raffle prizes, including a gift certificate to Twin Sisters Brewing.

The craft beers and brews of Kombucha Town, Bellingham Cider Company, and Twin Sisters Brewing will be on tap all day at the Finish Line Festival. If you’re 21+ and plan to run the marathon, half marathon, or relay, you’ve already bought one drink of your choice from one of these local breweries, so come join the fun! You just might find new jogging buddies over a glass of local ale, kombucha, or cider.
