Marathon
All marathon finishers will receive a commemorative finisher’s jacket and finisher’s medal.
Top Finishers (Open Division)
Top awards are presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Overall Male and Female finishers. Top overall finishers receive:

Note: in the past we have offered Course Records Bonuses. We will not be offering these in 2021, as the courses will be new.
Masters (40+) Division

Local (Whatcom County) Division
Local awards are presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Whatcom County Male and Female finishers. First place M/F will also receive a Free Entry into the following years’ race.
Age Group Awards
Age group awards are presented to top finishers in the following age groups: 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.
Half Marathon
All finishers receive a finisher’s medal in the finishing chute. First place M/F will also receive a Free Entry into the following years’ race.

Age Group Awards
Age group awards are presented to top finishers in the following age groups: 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over.
10K
New this year – all 10k finishers will receive a medal in the finisher’s chute! Top awards are presented to the Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Male and Female finishers. First place M/F will also receive a Free Entry into the following years’ race.
5K

Awards & Prize Money Guidelines
- Runners must be officially registered for an event in order to qualify for awards or prize money.
- Top finishers (open) times are based on gun time, not net (chip) time. Masters, Local, and Age Group times are based on net (chip) time.
- Masters (40+) division includes all participants who are at least 40 years of age on race day.
- Local (Whatcom County) division includes participants who have been residents of Whatcom County for at least one year.
- Participants may win prizes in multiple divisions. For example, if the second place overall marathon finisher has been a resident of Whatcom County for at least one year, he/she would receive Open and Local division awards/prize money.
- Early start participants are ineligible for any prize money or awards.
- Pacers are ineligible for any prize money or awards.
Awards Presentation
Awards are presented on race day. Prize money winners are strongly encouraged to attend the awards ceremony. If your finish place earns you an award and you are unable to stay until the time of presentation, please go to the Race Desk to collect your award. Have your bib or photo ID available for verification. Under no circumstances will prize money be awarded prior to the Awards Ceremony. Awards will not be mailed.
