In order to ensure the safety of our participants, there is a lot of traffic control associated with our event. We obtain permits for our use of public roads, streets, and parks, and we acquire permission on the (rare) occasion that one of our races passes through private property. Whenever appropriate, we employ law enforcement and certified flaggers to provide professional traffic control services; we also have hundreds of volunteer course monitors assisting participants and motorists on race day.
We do our best to communicate the traffic impact of our event in advance so local residents can adjust accordingly, and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by our event. If you have questions or suggestions for how we can do better in this area, please contact us.
